The city of Porto, known as Cidade Invicta (invincible city), is the second largest in Portugal, the capital of the Porto district and of the country’s northern region.

    On buying, you must request a statement at the store, showing in detail the amount paid, the goods purchased and the amount that can be refunded. You may get your refund in cash at major European airports or major European cities centres, or through your credit card or international check, provided that the goods have been previously shown to customs.

  • Electricity: 230/400 volt with a frequency of 50 hertz. Electrical outlets in accordance with European standards.
  • Passports and Visas: Citizens of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland need only an identity card to enter Portugal. In addition to their identity card, minors must also present authorization from their parents to travel. For visits of less than 90 days, a passport valid for at least three months after the end of their stay is necessary for visitors from Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Uruguay, Vatican, Venezuela and Special Administrative Regions of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong and Macao. Citizens from countries not mentioned above need a visa to enter Portugal, which may be requested at the Portuguese Embassy or Consulate of their country for stays of up to 90 days. Under the terms of the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement, flights between Schengen states are considered to be internal flights and passengers do not need to obtain another visa.
  • People with physical, auditory and visual disabilities: the resources identified as having facilities or services suitable for people with physical, auditory and visual disabilities are clearly marked in this Tourism Portal. Many public transportation vehicles are now accessible to people with physical disabilities.
  • Proof of purchase: every time you make a purchase of a product or service you should ask for proof of purchase (invoice/receipt).

Complaints Book: all suppliers and service providers are required to hold a Complaints Book and make it available to users when requested. When the complaints book is not immediately made available to the user, he may require the presence of police authority to solve this difficulty.

The claim is made by filling in the complaint (Complaints Book), in which the client describes clearly and completely the facts that motivate it and indicates elements relating to his identification.

After filling in the complaint, the supplier of the goods / services provider is required to submit it to the monitor market authority or regulator in the sector, within five working days and hand the duplicate of the claim to the claimer, keeping the triplicate, which is part of the complaints book and cannot be removed. 

The user can also send the duplicate of the complaint to the monitor or the relevant market sector regulator, indicated on the sign posted at the establishment.

How to reach Alfandega

 

Directions by AIRPLANE

To arrive at the Alfândega Porto Congress Centre from the airport, there are 2 options:

  • 1st option: 
    Catch the metro “Line E”, Destination “Estádio do Dragão”. Exit at “Trindade”
    Duration of trip: 24 minutes
    Travel ticket: Z4
  • At “Trindade” change to “Line D” – Destination “Santo Ovidio” and exit at “São Bento”
    Duration of trip: 4 minutes
    Travel ticket: Use same travel ticket as before
  • Exit the metro station and at the STCP bus stop, catch the “500″ bus – Destination “Matosinhos (Mercado)”- Exit at “Alfândega” bus stop.
  • Duration of trip: 4 minutes
    Travel ticket: Use same travel ticket as before

 

  • 2nd Option
    Taxi – aprox. 20 minutes

To travel to the Alfândega Porto Congress Centre by train, there are two possible train stations:

Campanhã Train Station

  • 1st Option:
    Catch the train/metro to “São Bento”
    Duration of trip: 4 minutes
    Travel ticket: Z2
  • Exit the train/metro station and at the STCP bus stop, catch the “500” bus – Destination “Matosinhos (Mercado)”– Exit at “Alfândega” bus stop.
    Duration of trip: 5 minutes
    Travel ticket: Use same travel ticket as before

 

  • 2nd Option:
    Catch the Metro “Line A, B, C, E or F” at “Campanhã” and exit at “Trindade”.
    Duration of trip: 6 minutes
    Travel ticket: Z2 
  • Change to “Line D”, destination “Santo Ovideo” and exit at “São Bento”
    Duration of trip: 4 minutes
    Travel ticket: Use same travel ticket as before

 

  • 3rd Option:

    Follow the A1 highway until Via Panorâmica Edgar Cardoso in Porto.
    Keep to the right at the intersection to continue on the A1 and follow the directions to IC2/Porto-Arrábida/Gaia Centro/IC1/V.na Castelo. 
    Exit at Campo Alegre (750m)

    Keep left in direction to Via Panorâmica Edgar Cardoso (260m)
    Turn right in direction to R. da Rainha Dona Estefânia (280m)
    Turn right in direction to R. de Dom Pedro V (600m)
    Turn left in direction to Viaduto do Cais das Pedras (850m)
    Continue until R. Nova da Alfândega (220m)

 

  • A3:
    Follow the A3 highway until Via Panorâmica Edgar Cardoso in Porto.
    Keep right and exit and exit 6 to change to A20/IC23 in direction to VCI/Porto/Boavista/Gaia/Arrábida (4,1km)
    Continue until A1/IC23 (2,1km)
    Exit at Campo Alegre (1,4km)
    Keep left in direction to Via Panorâmica Edgar Cardoso (260m)
    Turn right in direction to R. da Rainha Dona Estefânia (280m)
